Self contained accommodation - Full Kitchen Facilities which includes  eating utensils, pots & pans, cook top, fridge, oven and most cases a microwave and laundry.

Semi self contained accommodation - Cook top, fridge, eating utensils or frypan and in some cases a microwave.

 

Studio Apartment accommodation- Open plan (bedroom area not separate).

Townhouse accommodation- Upstairs/Downstairs (Bedroom is usually upstairs).

Ensuite - Bathroom, Shower and WC facilities.

Mini Bar - A small fridge stocked with various types of alcoholic beverages and milk for coffee, tea etc.

Apartment -  Bedrooms are usually separated from the living area. 1 to 3 separate bedrooms can be contained in each apartments. Some of them have licensed facilities and recreational facilities.

B & B - Bed and Breakfast accommodations are private houses where  hosts live on the premises. Usually having from 1 to 4 Bedrooms to let. In most B&Bs breakfast is included in the price and some of them are self contained.

Caravan Park - Trailer Parks as they are sometimes called offer camping and caravan sites. Also have self contained villas or cabin accommodation.

Hotel - Are licensed accommodation with restaurants and bars. Bedroom is not usually separated from the living area. Some hotels in Cairns have apartment style rooms with self contained facilities from 1 to 4 Bedrooms. 

Hostel - Or Backpackers which they are some times called are a budget style of accommodations which have shared facilities such as dormitory rooms, bathroom & WC, kitchen. Also have private rooms for the families.

Motel - Room service breakfast and in most cases rooms are not separated from the living areas. Tea coffee making facilities, fridge. Some have apartment accommodation.

Resort - Can be a mixture of Apartments accommodation and licensed hotel style of accommodation. Some have restaurants, bars, recreational facilities, room service meals, fridge. Some have self contained facilities from 1 to 4 Bedrooms.
