Cairns to Port Douglas

This route takes in the Northern Beaches and Smithfield a picturesque and popular holiday destination offering many attractions... Travelling 68km north of Cairns is Port Douglas  From here is a stunning relaxing drive to Port Douglas. You will see the ocean for most of the drive. Browse village shops, galleries, and historic buildings, seaside Sunday markets and the rainforest wildlife centre. 
 
Also, from  Port Douglas is access to Mossman beautiful DaintreeCape Tribulation and the historical Cooktown.

Cairns To The Tablelands.

There are 2 Routes from Cairns to The Tablelands and there is something to see and do in every town on the way. From Cairns to Gordonvale will take you up the Gillies Highway through the luscious rainforest. This route takes you to the magical Crater Lakes, (Lake Barrine, Lake Euramoo and Lake Eacham),  also the beautiful Tinnaroo Dam. On to Millaa Millaa and Malanda which is the waterfall and Crater Lakes district. The route to the Tablelands from Cairns is via Caravonica Lakes by road or Sky Rail visiting the beautiful Kuranda rain- forest and browse through the markets and the Butterfly Sanctuary & the Wildlife Noctarium.  From there is Mareeba and Atherton.
 

Tablelands to the Outback Gulf Savannah.

Atherton takes you onto the outback the Gulf Savannah region stretching as the Northern Territory border. Mt Surprise, gem fossicking, the Undara Lava Tubes, volcanic tunnels, Tallaroo mineral hot springs and the Cobold Gorge. By train the Gulflander links Normanton and Croydon while the Savannahlander travels between Mt Surprise and Forsayth.
