Crocodiles rely on stealth and camouflage for hunting. To the unwary they can resemble a floating log.
In short bursts the estuarine crocodiles can swim in excess of 25 kilometres per hour. Estuarine crocodiles may live to 100 years or more.

Habitat

The saltwater crocodile can be found in the northern parts of Australia and in Asia.  They can swim hundreds of  kilometres. This is why they are  found in the warmer climates of Asia and Australia.

Saltwater crocodile lives around coastal areas and in rivers, swamp and estrays.
They can be forced out to sea by dominant  crocodiles and  move around the coast in search of river system.

Nesting

The female builds a mound shaped nest of leaves, plants and mud. she will lay between 40 to 60 eggs of which only approximately 1% will survive to adulthood.

Crocodile Eggs
The temperature of incubation determine the sex of a crocodile.
About  31.6°C for male and below 31.6°C for females

Juveniles are raised in freshwater areas, but after a few months venture off on their own.

Diet

Saltwater crocodiles hunt a large variety of marine life and land animals including birds, turtles, crustaceans, goannas, buffalo, snakes,  birds,  wild animals, domestic animals and the occasional human that happens to unfortunately be nearby.  Crocodiles are also cannibals,  they do eat other crocodiles.

Crocodiles catch their prey in a sudden short burst of speed.

As long as their body temperature remains low, a crocodile can go for months without feeding

Dangers

Crocodiles can be submerged for hours.

The absence of  warning signs do not guarantee safe swimming (the signs are persistently being stolen).  Crocodiles can lie submerged for hours.

Don't stand near the waters edge of swamps estuaries and rivers where a crocodile could be lurking and keep your eyes opened.  While fatalities are rare, the fact remains, crocodile will attack humans.  So if you are not sure, don't go swimming and don't smile at a crocodile.
